Voters’ Register is a solid and credible document – Dr. Bossman Asare
The Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission(EC), Dr. Bossman Asare has emphasized that the country’s Voters’ Register is very solid and credible.
During an interview on Hot Issues on TV3 monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the Deputy EC Boss explained why the voter’s registration is credible and ready for the general elections.
He mentioned that the CI 91 the Electoral Commission used for the registration of the voter registration makes the register credible for use because the CI 91 was the same process used for the cleaning of the register in 2020 and the Commission experienced no issues.
“The C1 91 which is amended by the CI 126, regulations 23 and 24 provide a framework for auditing the voters’ register. And the process hasn’t been exhausted. So as a Commission, we know that this is what we must use to ensure we have a clean credible and robust register for the 2024 elections. That same process was used to clean the register in 2020.” He explained
This explanation from the Electoral Commission comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) rejected the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) request for a forensic audit of the voters’ register a few days ago.
