Indiscipline by Democracy Hub protesters fueled by hunger – Sam Korankye Ankrah
The Apostle General of Royal House Chapel International, Sam Korankye Ankrah, is of the view that hunger and frustrations in the country fueled the indiscipline exhibited by Democracy Hub protesters.
About 39 protesters have been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court for engaging in some forms of illegality during the democracy hub.
They will be in police and prison custody for 2 weeks before they will be brought back to court.
But commenting on the issue at church on Sunday, September 29, 2024, Sam Korankye Ankrah, while pleading on their behalf, said the indiscipline exhibited during the protest fueled their frustrations and hunger in the system.
“They went overboard, but when somebody is hungry they become angry as well and so if you want to punish them for expressing their anger and the hunger also kill them and very soon we shall be losing all our young men and our young women.
So as a father of this nation, I’m asking that our sons have erred, let’s forgive them, throwing them behind bars will not solve any problem. Let’s release them and we are advising everyone that when you are going to have your democratic demonstrations, please march and your placards are all we want to see, we don’t want violence,” he said.
