Togbega Zogah cuts sod to construct two-unit kindergarten block for Anaosukope Basic School
Togbega Kadzi Zogah II, Paramount Chief of Sokpoe, has cut sod for the construction of a two-unit kindergarten classroom block for Anaosukofe Primary School in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
This followed escalaing issues of classroom deficit in the school and the inhumane situation of kindergarten pupils learning under trees everyday over the past twenty years.
Togbega also distributed essential supplies, including mosquito nets, exercise books, pens, sanitizers and sanitary pads to the students.
This initiative, according to him, formed part of his commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and healthcare of pupils in the Sokpoe Traditional Area.
“Education is key to unlocking our children’s potential. I had my basic education in this school and I am convinced that more prominent people would be produced from same, only if we support and encourage them,” Togbega Kadzi emphasized.
Togbega however highlighted inadequate road networks hindering accessibility to the school and appealed for support from corporate Ghana.
“The road networks leading to the school are poor. I urge philanthropists and well-meaning Ghanaians to support,” he stated.
Togbega Kadzi also chaired a fundraising ceremony to expand piped water to the Anaosukofe school.
This initiative, he said, would ensure students’ access to clean water, promoting hygiene and health.
Togbega Kadzi Zogah assured that work would commence in a few days to avert the menace of kindergarten pupils studying under trees.
“I would ensure that the construction of the two-unit blocks commences immediately because it’s sad to see our children studying under trees and running to get shelter somewhere whenever it rains.”
Togbega praised the efforts of Mr William Kormedoda, an alumni of the school for the construction of a nine-unit toilet facility for the school.
Mr Agbesi Woyome, the Member of Parliament of South Tongu Constituency expressed gratitude to Togbega Kadzi Zogah for his intervention.
He pledged his support to ensure that the project was successfully completed and the kindergarten pupils got a modern classroom block to enhance their studies.
Anaosukofe residents lauded Togbega’s dedication and his timely efforts to improve educational prospects in the community.
