Volta Region will vote on development not sentiments in 2024 – Ahiagbah tells Mahama
Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has indicated that the Volta Region will vote based on vision and not sentiments in the 2024 elections.
He believes that regardless of the region being the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), there has not been a clear-cut vision spelt out by the flagbearer for the NDC for the region’s development.
Ahiagbah says the region cannot be taken for granted by the NDC as they have done over the years.
He used the opportunity to highlight the vision of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the Volta Region.
Ahiagbah who made this known in a post on X said: “Volta must support Bawumia and reject Mahama. Bawumia’s leadership will boost economic activity, create more jobs, and increase regional export production.
“Bawumia plans to establish Special Economic Zones or free zones in border towns, including Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency.
“A Free Zone enclave in the Volta Region is a game-changer, but NDC-Mahama has no such plans for the Volta Region. What is former President Mahama’s vision or plan for the Volta Region? The development of the Volta Region will inform our votes in 2024 and not sentiment,” he added.
The Vice President’s presidential campaign arrived in the region on Thursday, May 30, 2024, and is expected to continue its engagements later today.
